Ovulation in C. elegans

In utero imaging of C. elegans ovulation following the entry of an oocyte (red) into the sperm containing organ, the spermatheca, where it is fertilized by resident sperm. The fertilized oocyte is then expelled into the uterus where is begins to develop. The time-lapse ends after the first division of the embryo into two cell. (credit: Jake Reich) Download
