Nelio Rodrigues, PhD
Postdoctoral Fellow
Nelio started his scientific endeavors at the University of Coimbra, Portugal, where he studied Biochemistry. During his Ph.D. studies at University College London, he used fly epithelia to investigate how cell shape changes are controlled during mitosis in the laboratory of Professor Buzz Baum. In the Goehring Lab he continues to nurture his interest in cell division and polarity. The main focus of his project is to explore mechanisms that control the expression of PAR proteins and their importance in robust cell polarization.
